Captain Barnes-Lawrence made the arrangements for the return to England by the Peninsular and Oriental Steamship "Delhi" on the 20th ultimo of the widow of Captain Maxfield which arrangements were reported in my telegram to Your Lordship of the 25th September.

37. The Police report that up to the 4th instant 571 bodies had been recovered by them and the Tung Wa Hospital up to the 1st had buried 665 corpses, of Life. Chinese.
